Spywareblaster  -  This software biggest claim to fame is it's ability to stop infections before they start but it does not much to fix an already infected system. The snapshot and rollback function is wonderful. and the user opinion is it is a better package than "Spyware Terminator" (review below). I will post a complete review later when I have had a chance to use it on some client's machines (under combat conditions).

Spyware Terminator   Update 2-2008 (Please read this first - This anti-spyware slows system!

After weeks of testing this has proven to be great at removing junk software but it slows webs surfing down to a crawl on some system. So while I believe it does a great job at some things it is not a total fix. The real-time scanner seems to be the problem. This is still the best CLEANERs I have used to date an. DMM 2-18-2008

Still the best; "Spybot "at http://www.safernetworking.org is great, but hard to setup right. Tip; Don't use the "Tea Timer"  (Slows system).

Spyware Terminator - This stuff is really different (Read above).

I was a fan of "Spybot (search and destroy)" for years until version 1.5xx. I found it shaky and it did an incomplete job. This with the fact it is hard to setup to auto run I was tempted to try something else. Snapfiles sent me an and alert of a 5Star anti-spyware program "Spywareterminator".

I learned to respect the 5Star programs, they don't just pass that out (like some services), so I installed it, it was stable (even with SpyBot still in background) and it found "Spyware" Spybot" could not locate!

WOW! I was impressed, but it got even better. A few weeks later I used the "restore" function. I won't go into details how one of my laptops got infected with malware but the CMD (dos boxes) just kept flying at me, trying to run some script

After trying my usual tricks, for sever hours I remembered "Spyware Terminator's" restore function. It is way better than windows version that usually just makes a mess out of the system. This worked right, and I even tried several different restore points. You have to be patient though this is a slow process. It took over :30 with my P4, 3.4Ghz, w/1gb Ram so don't rush it it worked great each of 3 times even though it looked like it hung I just left it alone and it completed perfectly. 

SO DON'T RUSH TO ASSUME IT IS HUNG. It may look hung, but is is just very hard to do, and could take over an hour on some systems. IT IS WORTH THE TIME!

How the system restore worked on my system below;

In this screen-shot you will see what spyware was found on my system. I could not believe it, as the system at this point was running great. Remember this is after my rescue with the restore function. This open the "chicken and egg" question.

I skipped step 2 (boring), and went right to step 3 in this shot.

This setup was automatic and amaxing. I worked and gave me the tools to fix my system without any real thought from me at all! WOW is all I can say
